Move with Mads
The Full Story
About Me
Welcome to my world of movement...
I'm Maddie, a registered yoga instructor and EFL teacher! After completing my yoga teacher training in 2023, I travelled to India. My time there sparked so many changes in my relationship to my faith, my practice and my teaching.
What hasn't changed is my desire to inspire and encourage women to move their body in playful and curious ways, helping guide you to independence on your mat.

My Journey
I found yoga at the end of 2019, just before covid. I had a really unhealthy relationship to exercise at the time and was irritated by the slow mindfulness of the movement. I spent most of my time trying to get out of the poses and out of my own head.

After a long time struggling with my mental heath, I had a breakthrough. My instructor ended the class with savasana, and said:
"thank your body for everything it has done for you"

Such a simple phrase, and yet it started my journey towards no longer punishing my body with movement. To strengthen it, enable it to move through the world with ease, to thank it.

I practiced at home for the first couple of years, experimenting and messing around with an imperfect practice, getting to know my body and what I enjoyed. My goal was always to one day practice without an instructor - to be able to roll out my mat and flow based on what my body needed that day. And after enough time, I was finally able to.
In 2023 I completed my YTT to give me the ability to lead others through what had so profoundly changed me.

After travelling to India and finding Islam, I realised my path was leading me towards teaching women. To help them come to the same conclusions I had about how important our bodies are, despite being so often neglected by society.
